Jack Welch was the CEO of General Electric for 20 years (1982-2002). He began his early career an an engineer at GE shortly after receiving his PhD degree.
During his tenure, he built an empire worth $450 billion. Welch is also regarded as the most admired CEO in the world.
He championed initiatives like six sigma, globalization, and e-business during this time. He also fostered the culture of "boundaryless" sharing of ideas, an intense focus on people, 360 degree feedback, and aligning incentives for top performers at GE.
This book has given me a lot of impetus for my own leadership development.
